Answering the Telephone

Linda:Hello! Who is speaking?

Making a Telephone Call

Clerk:Good morning. Wilson Association。

Brown:This is Mr. Brown speaking. I’d like to speak to Mr. Thomas。

Dialing a Wrong Number

15 You talk crazy. 你滿嘴胡言。相當於you talk nonsense之意。 從語法上看,將形容詞放在動詞後不是很正規,但人家都這麼説,也就可以將就了。

16 I don’t mean to cross the line. 直譯是“我不想越界”。這句話的意思是,我並不是想管閒事呀,只是隨便問問。“I don’t mean to cross the line, is she your new girl friend ?”
