第四單元 第一部分

學會使用情態動詞culd表述某人在過去某一階段所具有的能力,學會描述過去正在發生的事情的經過。

(一)Culd- abilities

1. 基本用法:表示某人在過去某一時期所具備的某種能力。

(二)Past cntinuus

1. 基本用法:

(1)表示過去某一時刻或某一段時間裏正在進行的動作。

I was watching TV at nine ’clc esterda.

(2)可以表示過去預計將要發生的動作,但只適用於start, fl, ce, g, leave, arrive, sta, return等動詞。

(3)也可代替過去一般時表示讚美,厭煩等情緒。

(4)常被用來描寫故事發生的背景。

3. 過去進行時與一般過去時區別:

前者表示“正在做某事”, 後者表示“做過了某事”。

I translated an article last night.

前者用來表示較長的動作,意味着一個過程。後者表示較短的動作。

I was running dwnstairs, when I slipped and fell.

The wind blew the windw pen while I was writing a reprt.

由此可見,過去進行時比一般過去時更多見於所引導的表示過程的時間狀語從句中。

(二)副詞的構成及使用。

副詞是修飾動詞、形容詞、其他副詞或全句的詞。它也是從時間、地點、方式、程度等方面説明行為、性質或狀況的詞。副詞分為地點副詞、方式副詞、程度副詞、疑問副詞、連接副詞、關係副詞等。

1. 方式副詞構成:

(1)許多方式副詞是在意思相關的形容詞後加l。

(2)以輔音字母加結尾的先變為i,再加l

2. 使用:副詞主要是用做狀語的,修飾動詞、形容詞、副詞或全句,有時也用作表語、定語。

3. 副詞的位置:

修飾動詞時,位置不一。修飾形容詞和副詞時,一般放在被修飾詞之前,enugh除外。

4. 副詞的`比較等級:

和形容詞同形的單音節詞fast, slw, quic, hard, lud, high, wide的等級變化是加er,est。

fast- faster- fastest quic- quicer- quicest

以l結尾的方式副詞的等級變化,是前置re, st。

slwl-re slwl-st slwl

不規則變化的副詞,有
