it’s noticable that western holidays are becoming increasingly popular day by day, while chinese traditional festivals are being somewhat neglected. not long before about 10 doctors in beijing university and qinghua unversity announced that we should reject the invasion of western holidays ,because they regard western holidays as an challenge against our traditional festivals and culture.
frankly speaking, i don’t quite agree with ed, we should never neglect or even discard our traditonal festivals as china boasts a brilliant history and splendid traditions. (examples) why can’t we absorb the meaningful western holidays and culture. there are obvious reasons why some western holidays are so popular in china. on the one hand, some of the western holidays which we chinese don’t have are reasonable and meaningful, such as father’s day and april fool’s day etc. on the other hand,the prevalence of globalization enables western culture to prevail in china. overwhelmed by such a trend,chinese unconsiciously get involved in western holidays and culture.
with the further development of the whole world, the cultural communication between different countries and nations becomes faster and more and more important. we are indeed from different nations, but we are the citizens of the same world, so the outstanding culture of different nations is the commom wealth of everyone on the only way for us to protect our traditional culture is to reject the foreign culture? the answer is definitely no. what we ought to do is to spare no effort to educate chinese to get to know and treasure our splendid traditions instead of rejecting foreign culture. only by educating can we set our confidence and belief towards our culture. only by educating can we preserve and promote the wealth that our ancesters left for us.

Needless to say, one of the biggest opportunities given to China is the 20xx Olympic Games. Till now, we have used two sevenths of the preparation time. How much changes have you seen? New roads, new subway lines, public-exercising equipments with beautiful colors, large blocks of grass fields, and also lots of modern gyms which are under construction.
Other than those, there are even more good effects brought to us by the Olympic Games that cannot be seen directly. For example, more and more people will get to know China. I’m sure the mysterious Chinese culture will attract them. And the games will also do good to the economy and environment, for it is gaining the attention of foreign investors and the awareness of environmental protection is being strengthened. What is more, Olympic Games give a unique opportunity to inspire and educate a new generation of Chinese youth with the Olympic values and the Olympic spirit. Now that we have seen so many advances, could you even imagine us losing the holding rights?
I’ve already said a lot about the Olympics and China. But I think everyone should use some time to think of this question, ”Does the Olympic Games have any special meaning to you?”
For us, I mean the Chinese youth, 20xx Olympic Games is a tremendous gift. Because what we are waiting for is to do something significant as repaying the love given to us society is just like a ship, and in our dreams the captain is waving his hand and saying ”Hey! Thank you very much for choosing to come in such a cold y my topic is about choice and process.A research shows that a man has to make 73 choices one so many choices one day, people easily get so confused and afraid of making wrong choice that they hesitate and finally miss the true part of life. In my opinion, the following part is of much more importance than the choice. There is no absolute right or wrong choice but wonderful or boring life, which the process makes the difference.
Life is a box of chocolate,you never know what you will get. Forrest Gump made no decision by and for himself but he accomplished great success with his strong will in the process. The process is not the road itself but the attitudes and feelings ,the caution, courage and persistance we have as we encounter new experience and unexpected obstacles. Take myself as an example, I changed my major when I became a postgraduate. After the choice,days have been harsh for me.I cannot understand the new lessons at all.
For they are closely related to mathmatics which I learned nothing about before. However wuth the belief that this is the great chance for me to experience new ideas and challenge myself,I persisted. I asked for help from every channel and reorgonized my life. Gradually I could understand some parts and even found maths over, I learned to act instead of complaining. While I was schooling in Australia, my friends from school and I received a n assignment one day, "To make a ten to twenty minute movie on the topic of your choice." At the time, the trend was based around the popular Matrix movie trilogy, so that became our obvious choice.
Because our schedule was very tight, and it was a first time experience, we found it all very hard work, but when we released our production at school, it was worth it. After my friends and I showed the movie, we could not get from one end of the school to the other without getting congratulated about five or six times. We, especially I, were proud. We made a school-wide sensation.
From then on, I became obsessed with how to make movies and how filming is done. I just wanted to know about everyone and everything that has something to do with movies. I would watch a movie four to five times, just to find out how one camera angle, or special effect was produced. I found everything I watched quite amazing. I sometimes admired directors and producers of these films because the techniques they use are so smart. Their cleverness inspired me to make and act in movies.
When I become little bit older, I would like to attend a movie academy in Beijing or Shanghai, then America, or England, after some training and experience, I would like to make a movie, which will most likely be an action movie, which is my favorite kind of movie to watch.. If I am lucky, I hope I would get an Oscar Award for this movie. I think that would be quite a challenge, but it’s not impossible. For now, it’s back to watching movies over and over again for me!

對於單詞，我們就應該多記多背，單詞需要每天記憶，而且需要重複記憶，如果你當天記住了這個單詞，但你卻不願意一直複習，總會有一天忘記。我們除了學習新單詞，更要複習已經學過的單詞，現在我們需要學習的單詞比較少，那我們就應該把他們完全掌握。比如我們每天學習十個單詞，兩天後我們就必須要再次温習我們學過的單詞，如果這樣感覺記憶非常累，那麼我們可以通過閲讀英語文章來加強單詞記憶，並且每天堅持，只要我們每天都按時學習，掌握更多的單詞我們的基礎就能夠打牢固，這樣就方便了接下來的學習。
掌握了單詞後，我們就應該認真學習語法，畢竟西方的説話習慣，與我們不同，而且表達的意思也有出入，我們不但要掌握各種句型，更要明白如何運用，現在有很多有關語法的書籍可以供我們參考，老師上課所講的語法比較少，我們也可以利用時間多學一些語法，學習語法不但可以讓我們掌握英語説話習慣，也能夠讓我們複習鞏固所學的單詞。對我們的幫助很大。練習語法的最好辦法，就是多做題，通過不同的題型練習自己的.語法熟練度，而且各種語法我們必須要背誦掌握下來，當我們記住的語法多了，習慣成自然，就不會覺得這些語法難以接受。
在英語考試中聽力是鍛鍊我們英語溝通能力，如果我們學習了英語，卻不會用英語溝通，而且別人説的英語自己也聽不懂，那不是等於沒學嗎。我們之所以學習英語最主要的目的就是為了更好溝通，所以想要練習自己的聽力，我們不但要多聽英語磁帶，更要多説，要糾正自己的發音，勤學苦練中能夠學到更多。每天不能忘記自己的學習任務，堅持學習。可以利用早自習時間好好練習。
其實説來説去都離不開一點，那就是勤奮，學英語要勤奮，而且要學會利用時間，畢竟英語是一門語言，我們要掌握這門語言，就必須要勤加練習，多記多背。
