Education plays a very important role in the modernization of our country. However, because of historical factors, there are still a lot of people in China who are undereducated, especially among youngsters in rural areas. They cannot afford the expenses of schooling and need help. At the same time, China is not able to invest too much money in the matter at present time. It is in this particular situation that the authorities carry out the "Hope Project ". 教育在我國的現代化進程中起到了巨大的作用。然而，因為歷史的原因，中國現在仍有很多受教育不足的人，特別是山區的年輕人。他們支付不起學費也很需要幫助。與此同時，中國政府目前還不能投資太多的資金。就在這個特殊的時期，政府組建了“希望工程”。

This project is necessary to our country. It is anurgent measure that the government has taken. In the first place, this project will provide conditions for the youngsters to go back to school, which will contribute to their future success. Thus it will lead to the enhancement of the intelligence level in our country. Secondly, education makes it possible for people to acquire knowledge, which is useful to their future work. Hence, this Project benefits the modernization of our country a lot. Finally, it can make more people educated. Therefore, it may indirectly result in the increase of the living standards of our people.這項工程對我國是非常必要的'。這是政府採取的緊急措施。首先這項工程會為年輕人提供重返校園的條件，這對他們的未來有很大的幫助。因此這會使得我國國民整體智力水平提升。其次，教育使人們獲得知識，這對未來的工作是很有用的。最後，這會使更多人受教育。因此，這項工程會間接使得人們生活水平提高。

In my opinion, this project is of great importance to our country at the present time. And it also will have a profound effect on the future achievements of our country. I suggest that more work be done so that every child in the countryside can receive elementary education.在我看來，這項工程對我國現狀是很重要的。並且，這也將會對我國未來的成就有着深遠的的影響。我認為還有很多的工作需要去做，那麼山區的孩子們就能個接受最基本的教育了。
