i went out to see a film after supper. on my way to the cinema, i met an englishman named john, who had lost his way. i gave up the chance to see the film and took him to his hotel. while going there, i told him the great changes that had taken place here in the past few years and john told me something about his country.

though i had missed the film, i felt very happy, for i had not only helped john get out of trouble, but also practised my spoken english. if i had not worked hard at english, i would not have been able to help john.

I have two great-grandfathers, one from my mother’s side. My father’s grandfather is now97 years old and lives. In Toufen Although his eyesight and hearing is poor, his mind Is still sharp and clear. He always asks each visitor many pertinent questions and shares his ideas and opinions. He often talks with a loud voice and with much enthusiasm and energy. He can remember all He can remember all the names of his relatives and friends. In his youth he was trained to be a medical doctor; through his life he was an avid reader.

The farewell day would the least expected day in my life, but it has come eventually. At this momnet, I have to say that it is such a priviliage and honor to have worked with you guys shoulder on shouldr over the last four years. We went through a lot and achieved a lot. when i was a small child, my family lived in the village. it was just after the war, and many usually made our own toys, or we played with the animals or insects around our house. we looked for crickets or snakes during the summer afternoon. at might we went out to the fields to catch fireflies. sometimes we just played with sand, rocks, tree branches, or small birds. in contrast, a visit to a big toy store in the city today is very eciting. there are so many different toys to see, hear, and touch that i always feel like being a small child again.

But in my view, the greatest happiness lies in one’s satisfaction with one’s surroundings. So long as we can look at things with a happy heart, we can be happy. It has nothing to do with a mount of money we have. Therefore, people shouldn’t pay too much attention money we have.

On the contrary (相反地) what they should do is to put their money to good use and try to have an optimistic outlook all the time.
