I have always believed that reading books can expand the mind, touch the heart, and enrich the soul. They can also cause your imagination to do some funny things at times. I can remember several years ago reading a book where the hero went through several tragedies and at one point in the midst of his pain and torment cried out: “Where is Love?”. At that moment in my imagination I leapt into the story, grabbed him by the arm and told him: “It’s everywhere! It’s everywhere!”Love is everywhere. You just have to open your heart to see it.

For me it is there every time I watch the dawn break upon a new day. It is there every time a brisk winter breeze blows across my face. It is there in the first flower of Spring. It is there in the green grass of Summer. It is there in the last leaf of Fall. It is there every time my handicapped sons give me a hug. It is there every time my daughter laughs at one of my dumb jokes. It is there in the adoring eyes of my old beagle and my new puppy. It is there in the purring cat that naps on my chest. It is there in the smile of the clerk behind the counter. It is there in the old man who opens a door for me. It is there when I read a letter from a friend. It is there every time I pray. It is there in everything I write and every act of kindness I do.

The Bible tells us that “God is Love.” And since God is without beginning or end then so is love. It fills all of His creation. It fills us as well every time we open our hearts and souls to it. Don’t shut out love then. Don’t live your life in pain. Open your heart instead. Share your love instead. You will find that the more love you give away, the more love you will have. You will find that the more love you share, the more God’s love will surround you. You will find that when you live your life in love, you will find love everywhere.

I have to say for me, I've always believed it, in a fairy tale kind of way.

You know, like the way you believe in Santa Claus or the story of Cinderella, etc..., and I have to admit that though I've become older, I gotta' tell you that I, in a small way still believe in those dreamy fairytales, call me crazy, but I do!

I mean even though I learned that my family was the actual (Santa Claus) I still believe, in that story.

But with that being said, I always believed that love at first sight indeed happens. I just never believed it could or actually would happen to me, in my life.

I encountered this years ago, it was one of the most amazing things that has ever happened to me.

I mean, I really felt like I was shot by an arrow of cupid.

It happened just as simple as this; he walked in, my head was down, he asked me a question, I looked up to respond and our eyes locked; I can't even begin to describe the feeling that entered inside of my being, my mind, my entire soul...

I felt at that moment I had no control over what I was feeling.

I then gave him what he asked for, he said thank you, I replied, you're welcome.

The feeling was so strong and electric, it was undeniable that he felt it too.

I still remember the look on his face, his facial expression manifested the way I was feeling on the inside, like WOO!!!

Which to me translated all wrong because my dress was wrinkled, my hair was a mess, my mind was in a shambles because (behind the scenes of my life) I was handling, juggling, carrying and experiencing so much and it seemed that I was on my way to a break down and it seemed like God knew what to do, because in that moment of meeting that guy and and having that eye locking experience for that second (or however long it was) I was in Euphoria.

My eyes followed him to the door and after he was gone, I found I could breathe. I felt like I could do and be anything when he left. So, back to the question, do you believe in love at first sight?

How To Make Friends And Connect With People In Challenging Times

It can be difficult to make friends living in a big city, especially when you don’t know many people.

Over years of experience and studying social skills, I discovered that it’s possible to make friends without even trying. There are just a few strategies that you have to use on a consistent basis.

That’s what I’ll outline a few simple steps.

1. Be seen without trying to get attention.

You don’t have to say anything witty or interesting to get people’s attention, all you have to do is place yourself in environments where people will see you.

This can be done anywhere you go, such as the supermarket or your yoga studio.

2. Use the power of listening.

There’s an interesting phenomenon that occurs when you listen to other people, they’ll keep talking. Just keep giving them good eye contact and show with your body language that you care.

Listening is a mechanism to build trust and likeability.

3. Think about what you can give to the other people.

So often we think about what we can get out of others when we try to make friends, but that thinking needs to be flipped around.

Try offering a piece of helpful advice or invite someone you just met to grab coffee or lunch with you the following week.

4. Always have 3 good stories to tell other people.

When you have at least a few stories to share with others, you’ll never run out of things to talk about.

5. Smile like there’s no tomorrow.

It may not be natural for some of us to smile, but a smile is one of the most attractive things that someone can display when they’re meeting new people.

Think about these 5 strategies as tools. They’re always available if you want to connect with people instantly and develop true lasting friendships.
