Good evening, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the English Speaking Competition for Grade 2005. (掌聲~~~) First of all, please allow me to introduce myself, your host for today. I’m Sammy from Cla6, Grade 2005.

There are all together 26 contestants to compete in today’s English Speaking Competition, all from Grade 2005. And this competition will be mediated by a panel of five judges. Also on the panel are “question masters” who will be responsible for raising questions of today’s contestants. Now, I have the great privilege of presenting today’s judges.

Each of the contestants has 3 minutes to present a prepared speech and 2 minutes to answer questions raised by the judges.

During the prepared speech, a staff member will raise a yellow board as a signal that there is half a minute left. Then, at the end of 3minutes, a red board will be raised to let the speaker know that the time has run out. So, please raise the red board. Thank you!

　　開門見山，直切主題

這種開場的方式單刀直入，能夠直奔演講主題，通過簡潔的語言，開門見山，直切主題能迅速吸引聽眾的注意。

　　設問式

演講者一開始就提出一個或幾個令人出乎意料的問題，能夠迅速地喚起聽眾的興趣和注意力，引發人們的深思，自然地激發聽眾的參與意識，縮短與聽眾的距離。採用設問開頭的方式，關鍵在於問題要提得好，提得恰當。提問的資訊要與後面闡述的問題聯絡緊密，能巧妙而自然地引出演講的主體內容。第三屆全國英語演講比賽冠軍樑勵敏在演講“Are buses better than cars?”時這樣開頭：Is not owning aprivate eara dreamthat is deeply rooted in any Chinese for years time?Isn’t it true that in devel—oped countries，ears have already become all indispensable part of everyone’slife?I think we are all familiar with the scene in the western movies when thewhole family goes out on a car the parents sit at the front and thechildren at the isn’t that indeed avery harmonious picture?這一連串的發問能緊緊抓住聽眾。

在演講的開始引用名人名言、詩句等，以提出問題或論證自己的觀點。例如第十二屆全國英語演講比賽冠軍的即興演講是這樣開頭的：“When I am dead，my dearest，Sing no sad songs for t thou no roses at my head，No shady cypress the green grass above mewith showers and dewdrops ，if thou wilt，，if thou wilt，forget.’’她引用這首詩來說明“死亡並不恐怖，對於很多人來說死亡是美好的”。

　　講述故事法

以一個故事，一則新聞或自己的一次經歷引出演講的主題，容易吸引聽眾的注意力，激發聽眾的興趣。用故事開頭，需要做到敘事簡明扼要，所用事例要有針對性，所敘事情要與中心論題密切相關。最後還要回到主題上來，對所述故事進行昇華j如第十二屆全國英語演講比賽季軍楊赫在即興演講“What is self-esteem?How should you improve yourself-esteem?”中這樣說到：“In traditional Chinese classics，there was a man，who was starved to death who still refused to take the food that was offered tohim，using some rude modern w÷stem literature，there is a woman，named Jane Eyre，who refused to marry Edward Rochester，when he lookeddown upon do they have in common?Why do we respect them somuch?That is because of their strong self-esteem.’’

瑞士作家溫克勒說：“開場白有二項任務：一是建立說者與聽者的同感;二是如字義所釋，開啟場面，引入正題。”總的來說，開頭應簡短並能抓住聽眾的興趣。

在現代社會，隨著與日俱增的'競爭壓力，每個人都開始更加關注個人的充電計劃，而英語的培訓無疑是如今最熱的培訓專案之一。在我們生活的城市中，英語培訓學校數不盡數，不管是國小英語，還是國中英語，都是很火的培訓課程，所以，不管是自我成長還是費盡心思的培養孩子，英語已經是人人都熟悉的事情了，在英語培訓中，英語演講也是非常受大家歡迎的一門課程，它不僅能鍛鍊孩子自信、膽量、學識，更對孩子以後的將來有很大的促進作用。良好的英語演講口才和選手們的精彩表現給人印象深刻，那麼怎樣才能提升英語演講能力呢?

首先，演講前的準備，首先是要確立一個題目或一個話題。一般演講賽都分為命題演講和即興演講。如要進行演講比賽則必須對各個方面加以準備：政治、經濟、文化、教育等，找好立意點，擬定題目。做到心中有數。

其次，演講時的姿勢，訣竅之一是張開雙腳與肩同寬，挺穩整個身軀。另一個訣竅是想辦法擴散並減輕施加在身體上的緊張情緒。例如將一隻手稍微插入口袋中，或者手觸桌邊、或者手握麥克風等等。

最後，演講時的臉部表情。說話速度一旦緩慢，情緒即可穩定，臉部表情也得以放鬆，再者，全身上下也能夠為之泰然自若起來。超強的自信心，自信是成功的關鍵，要信心滿滿，充滿希望。

在演講的整個過程中還要注意一些演講的要領與技巧，如演講者與聽眾目光的接觸(eye contact)，聲音的抑揚頓挫(vocal variety)，和肢體語言的配合(hand gestures and body language)等等，但要恰當，不要太多，否則會喧賓奪主，影響演講效果。
