阿希禮在我看來，從始至終都是一個渣男。和玫蘭妮結婚之後，還和斯佳麗有着某種不明不白的關係，於是這就讓斯佳麗一直以為阿希禮愛着自己，和玫蘭妮結婚只是一個無奈的請求。所以斯佳麗一步步接近他。他在我眼裏還是一個不能自主自立，活在以前的無用之人。他做的一切事情都是靠玫蘭妮和斯佳麗的幫忙，自己知道無法適應這個社會，卻不選擇改變，於是他便在這半推半就之中活下來了。無論從哪個方面來看，他都是一個會被社會淘汰的人。

瑞特很像達西，達西是我很喜歡的一個男主，敢於説自己想説的話，即使全世界都反對，一直堅持做自己。而且他們都會為了自己喜歡的人進行改變，但是兩個人的結局卻截然不同。達西最後和伊麗莎白修成正果了，而瑞特在斯佳麗無知中慢慢地消磨完自己所有的感情。瑞特瞭解並且愛着斯佳麗，他努力慢慢讓斯佳麗愛上自己，在斯佳麗依然沒有認識到自己喜歡瑞特的時候，他就把自己對斯佳麗的愛全部付託到女兒美籃身上，在美籃去世後，他就消沉下去，一步步走向了不可挽回的深淵。最後在面對斯佳麗告白的時候，瑞特選擇退回到一個安全的地方，而不是繼續冒險。
