Good morning everyone ! It’s nice to be here for our speech。 Our subject talks about National Basketball Association ,which is short for NBA. Then let me start my report.
Our report contains six parts:
1 The founding and development history of NBA;
2 The management of NBA;
3 NBA teams;
4 "the all star weekend";
5 The legendary star of NBA;
6 The Cheerleader
NBA成立於1946年6月6日。成立時叫BAA，即全美籃球協會，是由十一家冰球館和體育館的老闆為了讓體育館在冰球比賽以外的時間，不至於閒置而共同發起成立的，成立BAA的初衷是為了讓體育館在冰球比賽以外的時間不至於空閒冷場，但是實際上背後真正的商業理由是：當時二戰剛剛結束，人們需要從緊張的氣氛中解脱出來，體育和娛樂正是人們的消費熱點，當然也是投資熱點，因此，聯盟的成立的目的不光説是一項競賽，當然還是投資一檔生意。發展：1.1946年6月6日，成立時叫BAA，即全美籃球協會 ,11支球隊；2，1949年，美國兩大籃球組織BAA和NBL合併為“NBA” ,17支球隊；3.1976年，吞併 ABA ,22支球隊；4.2004年，夏洛特山貓隊加入，球隊達到30支。

NBA was founded in 1946,June 6,which was called BAA(BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION OF AMERICA) at that bosses of 11 Ice hockey gyms jointly held the competition of playing basketball without hockey ng full use of the Free site of gyms is its original intention ver,in fact, the most important reason of business behind is that sports and entertainment was people's consumption hotspot, of course, was also hot spots for investment when the second world war was just over. So the founding of the union was not only holding a competition, but also investing a business.
The development history of NBA:the two big basketball organization BAA and NBL involved a commercial merger in 1949,which was namely NBA that had 17 teams . Then in 1976 it annexed ABA and expanded to 22 teams. Since The Charlotte Bobcats joined in NBA , the amount of teams reach to 30.

NBA adopted to the successful business strategy so that it becomes the first major league in this field now e are lots of strategies usually used such as looking for partners, ma-ki-ng star movement, product extension and globalized promotion and so on.

This is an NBA team geographical distribution, a total of 30 teams, they are located in the United States in addition to the Toronto raptors in Canada. 30 teams are divided into two parts, East and West , each division has 15 teams. There are some teams well-known to us such as the Los Angeles lakers and the Houston rockets belong to a western conference, and the Boston celtics and the Miami heat belong to the eastern conference.

NBA schedule includes regular season, playoffs and finals. As we know,NBA has 2.5 District, Each half of the district is divided into 3 division. One division of 5 teams in each of the two teams will play 4 games each other, two home and two away. two teams in half of the district will beat 3 to 4 games, the order of games decided by NBA headquarters according to the point. Different half area of the two teams will play two games, one home and one away game. In the regular season before starting, in order to facilitate the running team, NBA will arrange some warm-up match, it is known as the preseason, its grades are not included in the regular season. After the regular season,the first of three divisions from east and west play for the playoffs along with other five teams recording 2

In the fall of 1950, the NBA had just started four years. The first chairman of NBA Maurice Podoloff agreed Walter Brown （the President of the Boston celtics) to choose the best players for a duel from the east and west teams after passing half season in order to prevent the market from declining. On March 2, 1951, NBA held the all-star game in Boston garden stadium, for the first time . On February 21, 2011(last
thyear), NBA held the event in the history of the NBA all-star for the 60
times in Los Angeles clippers and the Los Angeles lakers that held the common gym .
Contemporary the all-star game has developed into "the all star weekend",It lasts for three days, including "the all-star game", "rookie all-star challenge", "dunk contest", "3-pointers long-range jumpers competition”. The all-star weekend is during the middle of the regular season. It’s the time for the players to enjoy themselves. There are many activities during the all-star weekend. The second , Yao Ming, we are familiar with him, he is the sign and pride of Chinese basketball . In June 2002, joined in the Houston rockets in the first order, he was known as the movement of the Great Wall. Under siege by July 20, 2011, Yao officially announced his retirement in the press conference.

Yaoming is the most successful Chinese players in NBA, because of NBA, Yaoming become a world-famous player. But because of Yaoming, Houston Rockets become Chinese favourite club and NBA also profits a lot from Yao’s effect.
Kobe Bryant, some people don’t like his style of playing games. But they can’t deny that he is the most popular player in NBA. Once he had trouble in his personal affairs, we know that he was accused of a rapist. And for a time he was notorious. But he responded those voices in his action. No doubt that he is a talented player, his father was also a basketball player, and he grew up in a rich family, inheriting his father’s height. As a basketball player, he is also very lucky. He joined in Los angles Lakers, a great team. And in his fifth season, he got the NBA champion ring, because at that time, Shark O’nial was in his golden time, and Kobe was not the most important player in the team. After Shark left Lakers, he was alone in the team, and he couldn’t help his team achieve good grades. But it was in those seasons that make his personal statistic very surprise. He got 82 points in a game which is the second highest scores in NBA history. The highest is 100 points which was created by Chamberlain in 1962. I remember before that game, Lakers had lost 4 games in a row, and he was criticized by the Los Angle media, and at that time, Kobe didn’t defend for himself, he chose silences. And his teammates once said, when Kobe was silent, you know something
unbelievable will happen. That is Kobe, with talent and luck. But I think what made Kobe’s achievement is his hard-working. That’s why he chose 24 as his uniform number, he wanted to practice English 24 hours a day.
Iverson is also a talent player As a 1.83 meter height player, he has disadvantages playing he was not as lucky as Kobe, his family is poor, that’s why he chose basketball and gave up baseball. He said he could get huge money from the contract immediately if he plays in NBA. He is the Philadelphia 76ers star. But he never led that team get the champion. The best performance is eastern champion. And now he is old and loses his speed, it is more different for him to get the champion. When I was in high school, he was considered the most handsome player in NBA, I think it related to his special characteristics.
Here is the champion cup. No matter from their laughter or tears, we can understand how hard for them to get the champion. 30 teams, struggle for more than half a year, only for the cup. When the team gets the cup, the players of the team will get the champion ring. This ring means a lot to a player, we know there are many super stars in the association, but not all of them can be called great. As a great player, he should have the ability to lead his teams to get the champion. So 邁克爾喬丹 can be called great but 麥克格雷迪still can’t be.

Today my representation is about “My Favorite NBA Star” someone ask you “Who is your favorite NBA star?”, maybe you would say: Michael Jorda or James course, there are many others to choose from, but for me, Kobe Bryant is the best.
Kobe was born on Augest 23rd, 1978. He comes from Philadelphia. Kobe liked to play basketball and football in his childhood. Kobe’s father JOE , was alse an NBA player . He played for many teams, such as Philadelphia 76ers and Houston rockets e, he was not very famous as well as Kobe. When Kobe was just only 6 years old ,his family moved to Italy. During that time ,Kobe learned to speak he can speak English and Italian very well can alse speak a little Spanish, but he is not good at it. In 2001,Kobe married a woman called Vanessa. Vanessa is a is very beautiful and se-xy. Kobe and his wife have two kids ,they are both girls. They live in a large and beutiful house. It must be very comfortable and expensive. If I had one like that, it will be satisfactory and wonderful.
Now let’s talk about Kobe’s career. Kobe went to NBA in that time,a team called the Hornets bought him and they sold him to Los Angeles lakers. Kobe is full of skills. Kobe has been awarded many medals and honors. He got the MVP of NBA in 2015. He acquired the final MVP twice and the All Stars MVP four times was also awarded the O’Brien Cup five times. He also got 81 scores in one represented his country attending the Olympics twice and acquired the champions. He is a great basketball player . In the beginning of Kobe’s career , his wore NO.8 polo shirt and then he changed it to NO.24 . The new number means he will make effers 24 hours a day. Kobe also has some nicknames,such as“Peter Pan”and“Black Mamba”e is no doubt that lots of people admire Kobe Bryant.
We can aslo learn some spirits from Kobe. He once said: “what I’m doing right now, I’m chosing perfection”“,Everything negative-pressure，challenges-is all an opportunity for me to rise。”It means that he never give up and do his best on everything.
That’s my favorite NBA star , Kobe Bryent, a great player.

As everyone knows, NBA is a place where amazing happens and this will no doubtful make its fans excited and crazy, logically, it is welcomed all over the world with millions of fans. But what is NBA and where it comes from? The following I will give the answer.
NBA is the abbreviation of National Basketball Association, It is the world's premier men's professional basketball league and one of the major professional sports leagues of North America. It was founded in New York City on June 6, 1946 with 66 years history. At first ,there were only 11 teams, In 2004, the Charlotte Bobcats(夏洛特.山貓) team joins in NBA , the team reached 30, one of which is from Canada, the rests are from the United States, like Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Houston rockets, Denver, clippers and so on. The 30 teams of NBA are divided into two alliances---East and West alliance, both of them has 15 teams. There are three divisions in each alliance separately with 5 teams. West alliance can be divided into Northwest, Southwest and Pacific division. East alliance can be divided to Central, Southeast and Atlantic division. The game is divided into three stages: regular season (常規賽), play-offs(季後賽), finals(總決賽). Of course, the most exciting part is the finals. In each NBA’s regular season all the teams will compete with teams of their own divisions, their own alliance and also the another alliance, totally fight for 82 matches, and step by step to rise in rank both of east and
west alliances through regular season, then the top eight of each alliance are qualified to compete in play-offs. They will first separately fighting for the champion of their alliance, and then the two champions will meet in the NBA finals. In the finals, they will play no more than 7 matches to fight out the winner, then this team are the NBA championship of this season and will be award the “Larry O'Brien NBA Championship Trophy”(拉里·奧布萊恩冠軍獎: 用以紀念前NBA總裁拉里·奧布萊恩)and the most outstanding player will be award the finals’ MVP and each players of champion team will be award the NBA rings. These are the highest honor of NBA, even in basketball field.
National Basketball Association is the first big professional Basketball tournament, represents the highest level of world Basketball, which produced a Michael Jordan, magic Johnson, Kobe Bryant, lebron James, yaoMing, such as world stars. The following I will talk about some great basketball players that are well-know to everyone.
The first one I will introduce is Michael Jordan, people name him “flyer”, his uniform number is 23, as the Bulls dynasty’s founder, he has got Six-time NBA champion and Final MVP, Five-time NBA MVP ,10-time All-NBA First Team Defensive Player of the Year (1988), 14-time All-Star, Two-time Olympic gold medalist (1984, '92), he is a legend and no player can touch him.
Kobe Bryant, another American NBA basketball player, called ”small
flyer variant”, birth in 1978, 1.98 meters, is now playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, the shooting guard. He has millions of fans and his No.24 uniform always sell first all over the world. His parents named him after a kind of steak: the famous beef of Kobe, Japan, which they saw on a restaurant menu. Kobe Bryant is the youngest child and only son of his parents. He has two sisters and a beautiful wife. In November 1999, 21 year’s old Bryant met 17 year’s old Vanessa Laine while she was working as a background dancer on a music video. The two began dating and were engaged just six months later in May 2000, while Vanessa was still a High School student in Huntington Beach, California. By now they have two lovely daughters. When in Basketball court he often acts as the key player achieving the unbelievable shoot, as we all known, he once also got 81 points in one game which created a record. Just because of this, he is given lots of Nicknames, just like “Black Mamba” ” Mr. 81” “Buzzer Beater Bryant(讀秒殺手)” “Lord of the Rings(指環王)” and so on. He is thought to be the most powerful American basketball player a pre sent.
Of course, there are some other NBA super stars I like, such as the “Big Three” of Miami, last year’s championship. One of them is King James, people accustomed to call him Empire. He was last year’s final MVP, as we all known, he is very strong, just like a gorilla, so that no one can stop him.
Another famous NBA former star is Allen Iverson, with about 1.83
meters’ height, nickname is “The answer”. He is the lowest NBA first overall pick in history and played in The Philadelphia 76ers. In his career he once won four times scoring champion, 2 times MVP in all stars when played in all stars many times. Once be the American dream team captain. But the later of his career is not so glorious, as his whole body is almost injured. Recently the team named United States stars consist of Iverson and the legend NBA star Rodman come to china to play with the CBA champion team-BeijingShouGang, Iverson performs outstanding, therefore it is said that he may sign with a CBA team, what an exciting news, let’s wait and see!
Tracy Mcgrady is also Another most welcomed NBA star, as he once played in rockets as partner to Yao Ming, called “Yao-Mai combination”, he once played very well and won two times continue scoring champion, 7 times played in all stars, and once in a match with spurs got 13 points in shortly 35 seconds created the unbelievable “Mcgrady time”. But unfortunately, he was seriously injured continuously and performance not so good. Consequently, at present none of the NBA teams willing to sign a contract with him. So the CBA team Qingdao has an opportunity to sign with this former NBA super star before long, and we are waiting for his return. Of course, I believe!
However to our Chinese’s proud, there is also some China basketball players once played in NBA, the most well-known one is Yao Ming,
known as the “little giant”, he is the Chinese basketball signs and pride. Born in September 12, 1980, in Shanghai, Owns Height of 2.26 meters, he joined the Shanghai sharks in 1997. In 1998 he becomes a member of the China national team. In 2002 he was the Houston rockets player to the number-one pick in. At the first year he was accepted into NBA all-star. Even though he played very well, but he is still very hard. He keeps two mottos, the one is “Believe in yourself, and the young yourselves should not be ordinary”, the another one is “How do you treat your body, your body will treat you”, so guided by the two mottos, he follows his dream in NBA and never give up, even though he was once seriously injured his left leg in 2015. These years in NBA and in rockets, his friendly and politely characters made him have lots of good partner and friends, such as his rockets’ partner Mcgridy and Francis. In July 9, 2011, NBA official website announced that Yao Ming had decided to retire from NBA. China and the world to lose a superstar, he represents the pride of China basketball. He married with YeLi, a member of China women basketball team in 2015 shanghai.
Apart from YaoMing, there are some other Chinese players once played in NBA, they are WangZhizhi(the first Chinese player in NBA)、Bater(in spurs)、SunYue(once played in lakers)、YiJianLian(nets and Dallas Mavericks), but they are ordinarily performed, and at present all of them have left NBA. However it is deserved to be mentioned the Chinese
American NBA player Jeremy Lin, nickname “Linsanity”, he was known all over the world in one week when played in New York team, got 136 points as starter in his NBA career’s first five matches, become the history’s best. And in 2012-2015 season he signed with Houston Rockets and his partner is James Harden who is one of the Big Three of last season’s champion Thunder team. Seen from the performance of the “Ha-Lin combination” in the first few matches of regular season this year, it’s potential is beyond measured. So give my best wishes to Jeremy Lin and Rockets, wait and see what will happen in the following season!
