為了英語能考出好成績，幾乎每個家長都使出渾身解數，把自己的孩子推到各種輔導班。浪費了大量的人力物力，還有時間。可這對邊遠山區的孩子公平嗎？外公所在的國小根本就沒有英語課，就是想上英語輔導班，也找不到地方。外公經常説：真不明白，為什麼一個外國的語言卻決定着很多中國的孩子能不能上好大學，真是國家的可悲。是呀，農村的孩子到中學才開始上英語課，我們卻已經在輔導班把國中的英語課程學完了。農村的孩子出生便倒在了英語的起跑線上，可悲，可歎。
