Reading books is a good habit for all kinds of reasons. First, reading is fun; you can always keep yourself happy if you like reading. Next, you can read a book anywhere: in a car, in a waiting room, in bed. You will need a book to spend the time. And there is another reason, and it is the best reason: it is useful for you. You’ll get a lot of things. And you will learn well. But someone says it is out of date.

This is not true. The more you read, the better you will be!

Taiwan is part of our country. It is the largest island in China. It has an area of about 36,000 square kilometers and a population of over 20 million. It is separated from the mainland by the Taiwan Strait. On the island the climate is mild and the resources are very rich.

Many, many centuries ago there were the Chinese who lived and worked in Taiwan. In the 17th ccntury the Dutch invaded Taiwan. In 1661 an army under Zheng Chenggong drove out the Dutch.

In Taipei there are many theatres showing a wide variety of movies such as love stories, westerns, spy stories, adventure ones, science fiction ones, and Kung-fu ones.
