hear 和hear of 都可解作聽説，

hear 後面接賓語從句。hear 還可作聽見，聽到解，後面可以接名詞，代詞+不帶to的不定式（或分詞）的複合結構。

I heard him just now.我剛才聽到了他説話。

I heard him singing in the next room.我聽見他在隔壁房間裏唱歌。

hear of後面接名詞，代詞或動名詞。I have heard of him.我聽人提到過他。

hear from意為收到的信，得到消息。例如：

How often do you hear from your father？你每隔多久收到你父親的信？

注意：hear from的主語是人，而不是信。
