there being為there be的非謂語形式之一，它在句中主要用作狀語或作介詞賓語。

■ 用作狀語

There being nothing else to do, we went home.

There having been no rain, the ground was dry.

由於沒有下雨，所以地面很乾。

【注】有時可與狀語從句轉換：
