1. 數字題聽力試題所涉及的數字包括年代、時間、年齡、距離、速度、價格、數量等,要 求回答某事在什麼時間發生;或某人在什麼時間做某事;或價格、數量等。
在做數字計算題時,考生除了應該聽清具體的數字,還應該注意表示倍數、百分率等的單詞。考察數字的辨音。 其會考生覺得較難的是"十幾"和"幾十"的區別,-teen/ˋt i:n/和-ty/ti/。比如,fifteen 和 fifty 的區分。
與價格有關的數字表達方式:
1).商品"打幾折"的讀法:有兩種方法:可以直接讀 at a x% discount 或 y% off,如 70 折 at a 30% discount 或 30% off.
2).其它一些與數字有關的常用表達:一對 couple,一打 dozen,兩週 fortnight, 幾 天 前 a few days ago 或 the other day.
3). 注 意 以 下 單 位 : inch(英 寸 ), foot( 英 尺 ), yard( 碼 ), mile( 英 裏 ), meter/m( 米 ), centimeter/cm( 釐 米 ), kilometer/km 米), cubic meter(立方米), liter(升)等。
4). 記住下面這些表示數字與數字之間的關係詞:表加減關係的詞,如 more(多)、 less(少)、late(晚)、early(早)、fast(快)、slow(慢)、before(前)、after(後)等。 表乘除關係的詞,如 times(倍)、twice(兩倍)、percentage(百分比) a pair of(一雙)、half of(一 半)、double(雙倍)、quarter(四分之一)等。
2. 關於人物關係、職業、身份的試題此類試題在對話中沒有對人物身份、關係等作直接 的説明,而是要根據對話中所提供的特定情境和談話內容,對説話的.人的身份、職業、關係進 行推理判斷。
常考的職業身份:對話中經常涉及的職業身份包括教授(professor)、祕書(secretary)、醫生 (doctor) 、 老闆 (boss) 、 服 務 員 (waiter/waitress) 、 主 人 (host/hostess) 、 修 理 工 (repairer, plumber, electrician…)和家庭角色(husband, wife, son, daughter)等。
試題中常涉及到的職業可分為以下幾類: ① 老師或學校工作人員和學生類常用的單詞和短 語 :teacher, student, oral/written paper, homework exam,test,quiz,mark,grade,score,term,semester,exam,pass, fail, , scholarship 獎 學 金 ),campus( 校 園 ) dormitory( 宿 舍 )', library, overdue( 過 期 的 ),renew( 續 借 ),etc.
② 醫 生 和 病 人 類 常 用 的 單 詞 和 短 語 :doctor, surgeon, dentist, physician, patient, fever, cold, cough, headache, injection( 注 射), prescription(藥方、 處方), a sore throat(喉嚨痛),pill, tablet, operation, X-ray emergency, etc.
③ 顧 客 與 營 業 員 類 常 用 的 單 詞 和 短 語 :shop assistant, salesgirl,
saleswoman, customer, shopper, sale ,reduction( 減 價 ), bargain, fashion, receipt cashier( 出 納 ),department, store, supermarket, discount 或 % off. etc,
④郵局職員和顧客類常用的單詞和短語:postman, postcard, telegram, zip code(郵政編碼),postage , regular letter, deliver, special delivery(限時專送),registered letter(掛號 信),parcel, air mail, post, sort, mailbox, envelope, stamp, EMS etc.
⑤銀行職員和顧客類常用的單詞和短語:client(委託人、顧 客),teller「(銀行)出納員)」,deposit(存款),withdraw(取款),loan(貸款),currency(貨幣),interest(利 息),credit card(信用卡),cash a check(把支票兑換成現金),open an account(開户),etc.
