會考書面表達主要考查學生初步的書面表達能力，要求學生能根據所給提示，用英語寫一篇語言正確、內容完整、語句連貫的短文。情景一般貼近學生的學習和生活;提供情景的形式包括文字、圖畫、圖表、提綱等。對於英語寫作，同學們要注意：
1. 認真閲讀提示，徹底理順思路。
做會考書面表達題時要認真閲讀提示，不僅要弄清試題提供的`所有信息，還要考慮用哪種體裁。是記敍文、説明文、議論文?還是應用文?如果是應用文，還要考慮是書信、日記、通知、啟事，還是便條等。然後還要考慮用哪一種人稱和時態。這樣就會思路明確，寫出來的短文才能條理清晰。
2. 緊扣要點，合理遣詞造句。
根據試題內容，列出要表達的要點，找出能體現要點的詞、短語和句型。如果是應用文體，還應特別注意各種應用文的格式。造句時應做到儘量使用考綱中要求的詞彙，句子宜短不宜長，句型宜簡不宜繁，同時也要適當用一些賓語從句、狀語從句和定語從句等複合句，以增強短文的邏輯性。
3. 精心謀篇潤色，仔細核對檢查。
文章寫好之後，還應注意句與句之間以及段與段之間的過渡。在需要的地方加上表示轉折、因果、並列、時間等的過渡詞或短語，如表示轉折的詞有：but, yet, however;表示因果的詞有：so, since, because;表示並列的詞或短語有：and, ..., ..., as well as, not (also)...; 表示時間的詞有：next, then, later, at last。適當使用這些詞或短語能使文章更加自然、流暢。檢查也是不可缺少的重要環節，可以起到及時糾正錯誤的作用，避免不必要的失分。具體做法是：通讀全文，看行文是否通順，要點是否齊全，詞數是否符合要求，體裁是否恰當，單詞拼寫、大小寫、標點符號是否正確等。
