My Hobbies

I am a 15-year-old student in junior Grade 3. Though I am occupied with my study, I would like to spend time on my hobbies, such as playing the piano, surfing the Internet.

One of my favourite hobby is reading. Reading has been in my life for many years, since I began to learn characters. It can not only kill the time, but also, more important, help improve my comprehension ability. When reading, I can learn a lot. Reading Shakespear's works, I know how Hamlet looks like. Reading Scorates, I can see how great ancient Greek philosophers are. Reading Lu Xu, I come back to the old time of China.

Reading really affect my life.

My day

I had a wonderful holiday at spring festival . I went to the park with my friends . We met at eight o'clock at the school gate . We went to the park by bike was a beautiful day . We sat under a big tree and chated with each other . We took about some movies and some fun things . We had lunch there . We ate hamburgers and some drinks , but I know they are not healthy and not good for us . Then we played some games .

We were all fell tired ,but we were very happy ! It was great fun !

My birthday

My birthday is 14th that day,my mother bought me a big birthday cake and cooked many delicious foods.I invent my friends to my r had a meal ,we sang songs and played the afternoon,we went to the park in my dad's the evening,my grandfather and grandmother came to my house for dinner,my uncle,aunt and sister came sister gave me a present and then,I went to bed.I had a very happy birthday party.

My Family

And My FlatI live in a flat in a building. The building is very modern. There are about ten floors and I live on the top floor. I think my flat is very wonderful. The dining room is next to the kitchen. We always have dinner there, and my mother often cooks some delicious food for us. I can t cook, but I often help Mum wash the dishes. Sometimes my friends come to my flat and they teach me how to cook. So now, I can cook something for my family. I like the sofa in my sitting room. It is very comfortable and it is purple. What a nice colour! The bathroom with a bath and a shower has a mirror. It is in the shape of star. There are four members in my family. They are my father, my mother, my brother and I. My parents work hard. They are very tired and I think they should have a good sleep. So the bedroom is the best place. My younger brother is only six years old. I love him even though he troubles me some times. In my bedroom, there are lots of posters of Angela on the wall. Angela is my favourite super star. She is beautiful. There is a garden in the district. You can go walking there. I also want to tell you about my dream home. It is near a sea. It s made of wood. Maybe that will come true.

Serious Floods

The Yangzte River is the longest river in China. And it s important and helpful to us Chinese. But these days the Yangtze River is bringing us serious floods.

Many villages were destroyed by floods. The floods made hundreds of millions of people lose their homes, relatives and friends. Many children can t go to school as usual the foods have drawn the attention of the whole world. People from abroad have offered their help too. In China, millions of soldiers are busy fighting against the floods. They are working very hard. Many of them have lost their lives in their attempt to save the villagers.

Though we can t help them to fight against floods, we should help them to rebuild their homeland. We can present them our pocketmoney and clothes. I believe most of the people will return to their homeland in the near future.

Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year is coming and my family is very busy. It s because Chinese New Year is very special and important. We must prepare many special things to get ready for this festival.

First, will make a big New Year meal. Second, we will make Good-luck wishes. Third, we will set off firecrackers. New Year meal is delicious and we think that eating some will bring us good luck. A long time ago, Chinese people believed red color could bring our good luck too. And we set off firecrackers could frighten ghosts away.

Chinese New Year is very popular between students. Because we can have a long happy holiday.

How I’ve changed

When I was a little girl ,I used to play with my friends all day and all night , I was very happy now ,I m growing up ,I just wand to be alone , so I become worried . I used to like planting flowers ,but now I don t have any time to do that , I only study and do my homework every day .I used to like watching Tv , and ofen watch cartoon ,but now I m more interested in sports games and English programmes.

I didn t use to reading books ,now ienjoy reading magazines ,because I think that the more books I read , the more knowledge I get . I usde to make my mother be angry with me ,now I m obedient to her . I used to be afraid of the dark , but now I like to think about my problem in the dark and enjoy the dark instead How much I have changed !But what changed my life ? The time ,time could change everything.

Stamps

When we send a letter or a postcard, we have to put stamps on the envelope or on the card. When did people first begin to use stamps? Who was the first to think of this idea? Here is some information about it.

In the early nineteenth century, people did mot use stamps. They had to pay for the letters or postcards they received. People didn’ t like it. First, it was not convenient. Second, sometimes they had to pay for the letters they didn’t want to receive at all, such as advertisements. Third, the postage was high at that time. And it was difficult for postmen to collect the postage.

Then one person thought out an idea to solve this problem. He was Rolland Hill, a schoolmaster in England. He was the first to put forward a proposal to use stamps in 1850s. He thought it would be much more convenient for people. They could go to a nearby post office to buy stamps and put them on the envelopes before they sent letters. The post office could simply put seals on the stamps to prevent them from being used again. That was a good idea and it was accepted by tile government finally.

My Best Friend

I have a friend. Her name is Gong Haijuan. She is a clever girl. She is kind to others. She has good grades in all subjects. She often comes first or second in the exam. She is like a boy. She is brave and helpful. One day, her friend’s keys fell into the pool. She jumped into the pool and found the keys. We all admire her. The owner of the keys master was grateful for her help. But she said, “We are classmates. We should help each other.” Sometimes when I have some hard questions, she will help me.

She is clever and cheerful. She can organize class activities and wall paper. Her wall paper won the first prize last term.

She is strong and good at sports. She likes playing volleyball and football. Sometimes she plays basketball with boys. The sports meeting is coming. She wants to get a good prize for class.

She is a nice girl. I think she can get better.

My best friend

My best friend is Mary. She lives in a tall building. She lives on the fifth floor. Everyday she takes the lift up and down. She is twelve years old. She is tall and thin. She has short black hair, two big eyes and a small mouth. She is very cute. I like playing with her. We are in the same class. I like to read books but she likes playing games. She likes to eat popcorn and ice creams. I like them, too. Her favourite food is fish, so she is clever. She loves her cat. She often plays with her. The cat likes Mary, too. They are cute.
