A:I can‘t do the work. It’s too difficult. 這工作我做不了,太難了。

B:Too difficult? No, it‘s a piece of cake. 太難了,不,那只是小菜一碟。

根據情況也可用其它時態形式:

That won‘t give me any trouble. It’ll be a piece of cake. 那不會給我添麻煩的,事情很容易。

I needn‘t have worried about my maths exam—it was a piece of cake. 我本來不必擔心我的'數學考試的,那簡直是容易極了。

2. You can‘t have the cake and eat it too.

表示不能同時做兩件互不相容的事而雙收其利,即兩者不可兼得或不能兩全其美),可譯為:不能什麼都隨你;不能兩全其美;事難兩全;兩者不可兼得。如:

He can‘t make up his mind whether to go to college or get a full-time job. You can’t have your cake and eat it. 上大學還是找個全日工作的職業,他還拿不定主意,兩者不可兼得啊。

You spend all your money on beer and then complain about being poor, but you can‘t have your cake and eat it, you know. 你把所有的錢都喝啤酒喝完了,然後又抱怨沒錢用,你知道,這不能兩全其美啊。

有時也可説:You can‘t eat your cake and have it.
