對廣大的煙民來説，現在能夠隨時點煙的地方是越來越少了。辦公室不行，家裏不行，餐館也不行。於是，我們經常就會看見三兩男女煙民倚在走廊盡頭的欄杆上，一邊吞雲吐霧，一邊閒聊。由此，一個適用於他們的搭訕方式也誕生了，就叫做smirting(借火搭訕)。
