Chinese badminton superstar Lin Dan, a two-time Olympic champion, has accused his Super League club of failing to pay him and six others for the 2016-17 season.

“拖欠工資”除了上文中的fail to pay以外，還可以用withhold salary或者delay salary來表示。發工資的時候，有些單位還會出現無理剋扣工資(unreasonable deductions from paychecks)的現象，更不用説保證發放加班費(overtime pay)了。

被拖欠方“討薪”可以用demand unpaid salary來表示，如果討薪成功，單位“補發工資”就可以用pay backdated salary表示。這裏的backdated就是表示某個政策或舉措從之前較早的時間開始計算。比如，6月份發出漲工資的決定，但是從1月開始算的，所以會從1月開始補發。這種情況就可以説：The increase in pay agreed in June will be backdated to January.
