1、集中注意力，全神貫注地完整地聽1遍錄音，以判斷難易程度決定先看還是先聽。如果完全能聽懂，也能理解文章內容，可另外換一個難度大點的'素材;如果大概能聽懂，但存在多處細節不明白，那這篇文章非常適合練習聽力，可先聽後看;如果聽完一遍只能聽懂幾個句子或單詞，不能掌握文章大意，説明較難，可先直接細讀以基本理解原文，把不懂的詞彙通過查詢弄懂，閲讀完後繼續完成以下的步驟。

2、第二次完整的播放錄音，開始摘要式聽寫，只需寫出文章大意。用筆將聽到的關鍵詞句寫在稿紙上，聽不懂得可先打個問號代替下。為了提高書寫速度，對於類似United States可採用簡寫形式，不熟悉的人名、地名也可簡寫。不允許暫停播放，要播到哪、聽到哪、寫到哪。

3、接着就是完全式的聽寫，多聽幾遍，可播一句聽一句，暫停播放寫一句，以爭取寫出與原文一摸一樣的聽寫稿。對於英語初學者，建議能經常進行完全式聽寫，有助於辨清單詞發音，糾正習慣性單詞拼寫錯誤，並增加聽力詞彙。

4、完成聽寫後，隔天我們可將這個聽力素材再拿出來聽1-2遍，不用執筆寫下來，只需在腦海裏把聽到的語句拼出來，確保聽清每一個詞句。然後再隔段時間再重複聽，這樣反覆聽的目的在於強化，讓你行程聽力條件反射，就是讓你擁有一聽到某些詞句就能立即條件反射式地在腦袋裏寫出你所聽到的語句。
